Stan Boardman - Comedian

Born in Merseyside, Stan's childhood dream was to play professional football for Liverpool. He did in fact sign as an apprentice for the team, but after failing to make the grade in big time football he went on to set up his own haulage business. However, in the summer of 1976 his life changed literally overnight.

While on holiday with his family, at a Butlin's holiday camp, his two children encouraged him to take part in the talent competition. He went on to win first prize (although he had been somewhat reluctant to take part initially!). This was just the beginning of his very successful career in the world of comedy.

He went on to appear on television's very popular show 'Opportunity Knocks' where he was a huge hit with the audience. He became very popular in television and was later asked to become the new host of Southern Television's children's programme Runaround.

Stan has also appeared on Granada Television's 'The Comedians'. This proved to be an even bigger springboard for him and he went on to become one of the most sort after comedians in the country appearing in pantomimes, concerts, cabaret and summer seasons at major venues all over Britain.

Stan is available for corporate events, sporting dinners and is always interested in one of his main passions today, entertaining guests at golf days.
